Line 1: Line 1:
Starvation occurs when one is deprived of appropriate food and nutrition. As high as 1 billion people alone are starving today or live on the edge of starvation and the number is still growing. This is a direct result of the profit-driven capitalism where resources are deliberately made scarce and are not distributed according to what is best for all life but according to what is best for the profit-makers. It is a fact that enough food is produced in the world to feed the world population two times over. Thus it is completely unacceptable to allow even one starving being in the world. Therefore, all starvation directly shows our accepted and allowed neglect and abuse of life and our complete disregard of what is best for all.

Starvation occurs when one is deprived of sufficient and appropriate food and nutrition.
